What a Waste This app doesn't have any of the birds I saw in Arenal / Fortuna and seems to be all American birds, not specific to Costa Rica. My original copy is well-worn and well-loved with dates beside each bird I've seen...now have a new copy, but keep grabbing the old one because it is like a dear, old friend.

There's a mess-up in the production of the book, and the page with the GND has been omitted. Even the effects of lighting and other real-world conditions are illustrated and explained. The common ones like the Myna birds and the zebra doves, may not be that unusual to an observer, but stop for a second and watch their behaviors. This is a well-designed, practical, pocket-sized field guide to the birds of Argentina and Uruguay, written and illustrated by two of the best field ornithologists in Argentina.
